I’ve recently developed a statement earring shopping habit—one I fully intended to curb in 2021. That is until I saw this summer’s statement earrings selection. Once I discovered how many fun earrings were on offer, I realized there was absolutely no hope of me kicking my obsession.
I’ve always been a fan of a kitschy statement piece. Growing up, I loved to add a blingy faux earring or two into my look. Now that I’m older (and that my ears are actually pierced), my earring collection has kept the same energy. The only difference? I had to swap my plastic Barbie earrings out for ones made from gold and lucite. I may be an adult, but I’m still obsessed with all things sparkly when it comes to my accessories. What can I say? I’m a maximalist at heart!
Lucky for me, this summer’s earrings offerings were really second-to-none in the drama department. From ear climbers that make me look like I have way more piercings than I actually do to oversized hoop earrings, my favorite brands have certifiably spoiled me this year—and none more than The Sak. I have been eyeing a few pieces from its super-affordable range lately, so I obviously had to include them here.
Suffice it to say my statement earring infatuation is here to stay for a few months more. Maybe I’ll reconsider kicking it in autumn? In any case, read on to shop a few of the most daring earrings on the market.
